I.Outstanding English Feature
Students in Maple Leaf are taught by both Chinese and Canadian teachers.Students of Grade 7 should complete the 1st and 2nd English books required by public schools in the first semester,and then start learning Maple Leaf English from the second semester.Maple Leaf English emphasizes reading and writing with 5000-6000 vocabularies,1500-2000 vocabularies for English Science.Yet,the amount of vocabularies for public school students is 1500-2000 for the entire 3 years.
Maple Leaf carries on the mode of“Graded English teaching”which includes fundamental class,parallel class and advanced class.The individualized quality education enables students to achieve all-round improvements in listening,speaking,reading and writing.
We offer Canadian Science course and introduce the original textbooks from Canada,all science teachers have overseas experiences.The course is unique in China with an aim to set a solid foundation and transition into Maple Leaf international high schools.
English club is held every two weeks for students to train their English abilities.More than 20 English clubs are offered including English drama,movie dubbing,English poster design,speech,translation and English songs,etc.

III.Curriculumization of nurturing‘three good habits’
Maple Leaf middle schools focus on nurturing positive personal and academic development through the‘three good habits’model of:positive learning skills,positive personal conduct and positive living skills.
Learning skills:students preview positively before the class,discuss actively in the class.We encourage students to question and present their learning abilities.
Personal conducts:We have strict rules and educate students with real cases.Our management is combined with education.Encourage students to educate themselves by advocating great spirits.Our students are supposed to have good personal conducts.
Living skills:we adhere to educate students to be prudent,and carry out“One-Card”campus card system with limiting the consumption.There is no currency circulation in the campus.Students are taught to be independent and self-management.They should line up and have meals,then bring the plates back to the designated place after the meal in the dining hall.They are also supposed to clean the dormitory with keeping personal things in order,get up and go to bed on time.The system should be implemented with strict standard.
Newly-enrolled students should be present in the campus one week in advance to attend the military training when the new school year begins.It helps to cultivate students’wills,spirits and behaviors from different places,so that they are able to adapt to the international atmosphere and teaching modes of Maple Leaf.

V.Abundant Practice Curricula
Maple Leaf Middle School sets all national courses together with special courses,practice courses,activity courses in order to satisfy students’personal learning needs.
MLES accepts students’special qualities.Every kind of specialties or awards of works can get“Maple Leaf Credit Points”added up to 50 points.
Every winter vacation,all students participate in the“Inquiry Learning Activity”.Every summer vacation,school will guide all students to attend social activities,evaluate and award credit points to students.
There are five kinds of activity courses offered.

Courses of Dalian Maple Leaf Middle School integrate with all English Canadian courses of senior high school’s“Double language,double degree”.Middle School sets all the national courses together with special courses.Students’progress and performance obtain wide recognition from parents.
